On Friday, Sept. 22, Morrison Child and Family Services will present A Children's Tale, a fundraiser for the Portland-based nonprofit.
The event, which runs from 6p.m. to 10p.m., will be held in the Heritage Ballroom of the Governor Hotel in downtown Portland.
Tickets are $100 per person; tables of 10 starte at $1000.
A Children's Tale features an original one-act play based upon a Morrison program or program person, and includes a catered dinner, live auction and award ceremony.

Stakeholder Presentation held at First Unitarian Church
On October 16 and 17, Children's Relief Nursery (CRN) will sponsor the first of three sessions in a one-year "learning collaborative" on child-parent psychotherapy. National Early Childhood Trauma experts Patricia Van Horn and Alicia Lieberman will present a two-day workshop to kick-off this new learning opportunity.
In conjunction with the Van Horn presentation to Learning Collaborative participants, she will make a special presentation to CRN's SAMHSA stakeholders. This session will examine the necessity for collaboration between professionals and service providers working with young children and families who suffer from traumatic stress. This session will run from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

The Annual Peace Concert is organized by and brings together choirs from multiple SW Portland faith organizations to benefit Neighborhood House's Emergency Food Box Program.
This year it's called: "Visions of Peace: A Spiritual Sharing of Verse and Song."

The event is free and open to the public. Donations of non-perishable food will be accepted. A freewill offering will also be taken to benefit the Neighborhood House Emergency Food Box Program at the event, and will be matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

"Roots and Wings" Child Abuse Prevention Event
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Multnomah County Commission on Children, Family and Community is again sponsoring "Roots and Wings" to showcase resource booths, family-friendly entertainment, speakers and children's activities.
The free event will be Saturday, March 31 at the Lloyd Center Mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Families with children of all ages are invited to the Roots and Wings free event at the Lloyd Center Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29th.
There will be resources and information from more than 50 organizations and other fun family activities, including a Children's Parade.
The event kicks off Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.
All grantees of the Children's Investment Fund will gather from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kennedy School on Wednesday, May 14th.
Agenda items will include:
--a media workshop with local journalists;
--discussiosn re changes in grantee reporting procedures;
--and for After-School and Mentoring programs, a dialogue on program-related outcomes.
A more detailed agenda will be sent to grantees in the coming weeks.
